Ran it in 4:23. No real problems encountered. The weather first thing in the morning was cold and windy. Started at 10:20 in wave group 3 with the blue group. Took off a little to fast for the first 2 miles but then settled in for a comfortable pace. By mile 11 I was getting a little hungry after smelling all of that food being cooked in the different neighborhoods. I was carrying 2 Gel Packs and consumed one at that time. Breezed through mile 20 and by mile 22 my left knee started to hurt a little bit. By mile 24 the pain went away. Overall a very good experience.

13.1 Mile Run

Ran 13.1 miles on Saturday morning. The weather was cool, in the 50's and windy. Ran it in 1 hour and 58 minutes. Burned about 1700 calories. Felt pretty good and had a pretty comfortable pace. Only 2 weeks left for the big race. This years training seems to have gone easier than last year. Hopefully I have not missed anything. Will find out soon enough especially when I hit the 20 mile mark and whether or not my body crashes and burns or will survive the last 6. The weather was perfect. Temperatures started in the 50's and very low humidity. Started the run at 9:00 am to get closer to the starting time of the marathon. Ran the 20 in 3 hours and 9 minutes. Felt pretty good for about the first 15 to 16 miles then I started getting a little tight and sore in my legs. This was not as bad as last years training but still noticeable. I also knew that the pain would be gone not long after I finished. Sure enough I felt fresh as a daisy later in the day. Burned 2600 calories. Purchased a new pair of New Balance running shoes today and will break them in this week to see if that will help. The weather was perfect. Temperatures were in the 50's with very low humidity. Met up with my 2 running buddies and ran together for about 8 miles. I then ran the last 12 miles by myself. My objective today was to run the 20 at about a 9 minute pace. However I ended up with a 9:29 pace. Can't really explain it except hopefully at the next 20 in 2 weeks it will be faster.
